The 之家 initiative will grow and support a university-wide framework to enhance curricular and co-curricular programs through high-impact educational experiences. 教师和 student 服务s staff will create a comprehensive plan for the integration of high-impact practices, with the goal of engaging each student at SXU in at least one practice during each of their years in college. A series of workshops will be offered for faculty and staff to build culturally-relevant practices into curricula and programming. A 社区 Advisory Board will be established to create local partnerships to enhance 高影响力的实践.

spring break 服务 trips
Spring Break 服务 Trips let students step outside of their comfort zones and see the country from a different 的角度来看. Accompanied by staff chaperones, groups travel to various sites across 美国.S. to spend a week living simply in community, providing daily 服务 to those in need, and reflecting on the causes of poverty and the deeper meaning of Christian 服务.

慈善义工团: Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, 美慈义工团 (MVC) promotes social change by placing and supporting volunteers for one year of 服务 with economically poor and marginalized people. Mercy Volunteers live a simple lifestyle in a community while practicing compassionate 服务 and spirituality.
